Rally is a success

VINTAGE machinery roared back to life at the 46th annual Cobden Vintage Rally over the weekend, with the historic displays drawing larger-than-expected crowds through the gates.

VINTAGE machinery roared back to life at the 46th annual Cobden Vintage Rally over the weekend, with the historic displays drawing larger-than-expected crowds through the gates.

South Western District Restoration Group secretary John Brown said attendees from far and wide had flocked to the Racecourse Park Rally Ground to enjoy the historic displays.

“It went very well. The weather was great, there were a lot of people through the gates,” he said.

“There were lots of exhibitors, there was some new visiting exhibitors as well.

“It was an excellent rally, with probably the best attendance we’ve had.”

Mr Brown said feedback from attendees had been positive.

“There was lots and lots of feedback,” he said.

“Lots of people said how much it (the rally) had grown and how good the displays were.

“The auction was well attended; it was very popular and probably the best one we’veever had.”

Mr Brown thanked all involved for helping to make the day a successful one.

“I’d like to say a thank you to everyone who brought their stuff to make it a big day, and also to all of our canteen staff,” he said.
