HEYTESBURY Rebels continued their good form last weekend with a six-wicket victory over Camperdown.
The win, the team’s eighth so far this season, sees the Rebels retain top spot on the South West Cricket Association ladder while Camperdown currently sits just inside the top four, with percentage ahead of fifth placed Terang.
Simon Harkness led the way for the Rebels on Saturday, smashing nine boundaries on his way to a creditable 52 runs.
Harkness was well supported at the crease by team-mates Ryan Mottram (41), Chris Vogels 29 not out and Paul Vogels 27 not out.
Finishing on 4/196 the Rebels bowled well to restrict Camperdown to 195 – with Bayley Thompson the best for the Rebels finishing with figures of 4/25 from his 8.3 overs.
In division two, Heytesbury enjoyed a 24-run victory over Ecklin finishing the day on 5/161 and having Ecklin at 10/137.
Ryan Jones had a great day out with the bat, contributing 85 to the scoreboard and also taking 3/14 off 6.4 overs.
The Rebels’ division three side was unable to make it a trifecta for the club, going down 9/186 against Cobden’s 4/238.
Stephen Benallack 64 and Bailey Delaney 52 were best with the bat for the Rebels.
