Region sees dry September

CAMPERDOWN, Derrinallum and Lismore all experienced less rainfall in September than the previous year, falling below the long-term monthly average.

Camperdown experienced 42.4mm of rainfall in September, which is lower than last year’s total of 93mm.

The figure is also lower than the long-term monthly average of 76.6mm.

The highest daily rainfall was recorded on September 9, where 20mm hit the ground.

Camperdown’s total rainfall for this year currently sits at 550.1mm.

Meanwhile, Derrinallum experienced 31.3mm of rainfall for the month of September.

The figure falls below last year’s total of 75.4mm for the same time, as well as the long-term monthly average of 65.5mm.

Derrinallum saw the most rainfall on September 8, where 8.6mm fell.

The total rainfall for Derrinallum for 2023 is 382.2mm.

Lismore also experienced low rainfall, seeing 27mm hit the ground in September.

The figure is surpassed by last year’s total of 55.6mm and is also lower than the long-term average of 61.9mm.

September 8 saw Lismore’s highest daily rainfall, where 8mm hit the ground.

Lismore’s rainfall total for 2023 is currently 362.4mm.
