Sharp sisters Jackenzie and Summer came home with a swag full of medals.

Four secondary and two primary students from the school competed at the annual Greater Western Region track and field championships last Thursday and Friday.

Thursday saw four of the school’s secondary students take to the track with an incredibly competitive spirit.

All four students finished in the top three - Lizzie Flavell finished third in the 15 year girls discus, Daniel Stonehouse ran a strong 800m race, crossing the line with a PB in third place, while Riley Fleming went out fast in his 1500m run and finished with a six-second PB and was third overall.

Jackenzie Sharp finished the day with four first placings in the multi-class events for shot put, long jump, 100m and 200m.

Last Friday saw primary students Braxton Sachs and Summer Sharp compete.

Braxton came up against some impressive power in the 11-year boys discus, but finished a creditable eighth overall, throwing 15.49m.

Like her sister, Summer also finished with four first placings in multi-class events, winning the 100m and 200m dash, long jump and shot put.

Jackenzie and Summer will now travel to Melbourne to compete at the SSV State Track and Field competition in the coming weeks.

Congratulations to all Terang College students - you should all be immensely proud of your achievements at an incredibly competitive regional level.

Many thanks to parents and grandparents for your support in driving students to Ballarat.
