Residents take a journey through art
THIS month’s exhibition at the Courthouse Camperdown is set to take visitors on an emotional journey with colour and acrylic.
The October exhibition will feature artist Amy Walsh, whose works primarily consist of portraits with some abstract expressionist stylisation.
Ms Walsh said her works were about her journey through life.
“It’s through my emotions – I portray art that comes through what I’m feeling,” she said.
“Hopefully people will come away with a sense of feeling what it was like for me to paint this.
“A sense of my journey and a sense of the emotions that went with it.
“I had a bit of a rough journey, and my art has been my therapy.”
Ms Walsh said she uses her art to portray her feelings and emotions, bringing them to life on canvas.
“It’s acrylic mostly, but I’ve got some prints as well,” she said.
The exhibition will be on display at 179 Manifold Street during October.
