THE Browne-trained Rhinoceros earned a major victory, saluting in a thrilling 2025 Camperdown Cup.

Eager racegoers lined the barrier on Saturday as Rhinoceros made good on favourite odds to race home first in the 1600 metre, $50,000 event to clinch victory by more than a length over the Cumani-trained Khoekhoe and the Kearney-trained Legacy Rose.

In earlier results, El Pibe De Oro claimed the Graeme and Bev Bant Memorial Maiden Plate, with a strong victory over Immortal Justice and My Symbol.

In the Bet365 Odds Drift Protector Maiden Plate, Millvina earned a narrow victory over Mummsie and Don’t Look Away.

In race three, the Terang-based Nizhoni secured the first local win for the meeting with just a .30-length margin over King Czar and Analytical in the Camperdown Mitre 10 Maiden Plate.

The victory was made all the more sweet as it marked the first of the Drever-trained four-year-old bay mare’s career.

Brandnu Deal saluted the Bet365 Maiden Plate with Pick Wisely following two lengths behind and Warbeck rounding out the top three.

In the Grit Legal/McCanns Newsagency (BM64) less than a length separated the Warrnambool-based Crepescule from second placed The Daily Planet and Livin’ Laughs finishing closely behind.

The Skybow Transport HCP (58) saw Sakowin finish ahead of Sunburnt and Stirrup.

In the race seven Pipeline Fabricators HCP (58) 1600m, Salsbury Hill saluted over Sugar And Sweet and Dantooine by less than a length.

In race nine, Whiskey Tango was a force to stride home by a length over Tekapo and Luciana.
