VINTAGE cars, happening tunes and rockabilly fashionistas helped create a buzz in Camperdown over the weekend.

The annual Rock the Clock weekend made a return, with people coming from near and far for the popular addition on the local calendar.

Committee member Jordy Hickey described the event as a success.

“We had a really great weekend with over 400 people attending overall with our Saturday night ticketed venue at maximum capacity, we couldn’t be happier,” she said.

“The Hampden Hotel hosted bands for free on Friday and Saturday night to cater for the overflow of patrons which worked really well.

“Dance lessons were well attended both Saturday and Sunday.”

Ms Hickey said the car show’n’shine which was held on Saturday saw more than 50 cars on display and raising over $100 for flood relief.

“Market stalls lined the avenue and the town was buzzing with local businesses extending their opening hours for the festival patrons.

“We had fantastic music all day and night and dancers travelled from far and wide to compete in the VRRDA dance comp which was hosted on Sunday.

“Overall, a successful event and the small volunteer committee thanks everyone who attended.”
