THE Mortlake Rose Show will be back in full swing this month after yearsof disruption.

After no show in 2020 and a modified show in 2021, the Mortlake Rose Show committee have announced the show will be back to its normal format.

Mortlake Rose Show co-ordinator Pam Walmsley said the 2022 Mortlake Rose Show would be a “true community event”.

“The 2022 show will feature the work and talents of local gardeners, knitters, patch workers, cross stitchers, photographers, artists and scrap bookers,” she said.

“There is something for everyone to seeand admire.”

The show will be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 12-13, at the Soldiers Memorial Hall in Mortlake.

Ms Walmsley said a number of popular aspects of the show would be returningthis year.

“It is particularly exciting to have the cake stall, plant stall, luncheon and afternoon tea all back again from 11.30am on the Saturday,” she said.

“With the Mortlake Kindergarten running the ever popular cake stall, there will be lots of homemade goodies to take home and stock you pantry and freezer.

“Country Women’s Association will not have its popular cake stall at the Mortlake market on Sunday, so Saturday is the day to come and get your supplies and support the Mortlake Kinder.”

Ms Walmsley said lunch would also be available on the day.

“Support the Mortlake College Parents’ Association as they tempt you with its lunch menu and dessert selection,” she said.

“They will also have tea, coffee and afternoon tea ready for a top up before you head home.”

Soldiers Memorial Hall will open for exhibit viewing from 12.30-3.30pm with presentations and guest speaker at 2pm.

Local nurseryman Steve Wilhems will also be stocking the plant stall, with a range of plants to be available for purchase.

“All in all a great day out knowing you are also supporting our local Kinder, nursery and Mortlake College,” Ms Walmsley said.

“You might even win a prize in our raffle.”
