It’s back: The Mortlake Rose Show will return for its 126th year next month.

The 126th Mortlake Rose Show will be in full bloom at Soldier’s Memorial Hall (Shaw Street) from 12.30-3.30pm on Saturday, November 9 and 10am-2pm on Sunday, November 10.

Mortlake Rose Show committee member Pam Walmsley said she was anticipating a successful weekend, with a wide range of beautiful flowers on display – headlined by the beautiful roses which grow in south west Victoria.

“There will be the usual great display of plants and roses that our growers and gardeners have been doing over the past 12 months,” she said.

“We hope people will help us keep this iconic event going, which has been in our community for 126 years.

“Everyone is invited to come and enjoy lunch on the Saturday from 11.30am, and peruse the usual cake stall.

“It’s going to be a wonderful day with some beautiful flowers on display, so I encourage everyone to come along and continue supporting us.”

There will be a special guest speaker and presentations on the Saturday from 2pm, and cake, food and plant stalls on the Saturday from 11.30am.

Anyone wanting to enter their flowers was encouraged to do so at no cost from Friday, November 8 from 6pm-7.45pm and the following Saturday morning from 8.30am to 10.30am.

Entry is by gold coin donation.
