The Victorian State Team Open Fours Practice Day is now on Sunday, August 11.

Last Friday, Heytesbury held its Champion of Champions at Simpson Hall and some close games were played.

In the recent VIBBA Mixed Fours and Mixed Pairs Championships, Heytesbury only had one entry in the mixed fours; Allen Armistead (s), Bec Heard, Harmony Rasmussen and Scott Pierce.

This team played the Warrnambool side of James Ruddle (s), Sue Kerr, “Possum” Robbins and Russell Kerr.

While they didn’t progress any further in the main event, they did manage to win the consolation event - the Plate.

In the mixed pairs, Heytesbury had a few entries in a field of 36 teams.

Harmony Rasmussen and Scott Pierce played against South Group’s Cindy Brodie and went down in the first round.

Arthur and Dianne Finch played Northern Group’s Sean Ingram and advanced to the next round, where they met eastern suburbs’ Jodie and Rodney Jones and unfortunately didn’t progress any further.

The Bacchus Marsh/Heytesbury combination of Jo Webster and Brett Mungean faced Warrnambool’s Rob McRabb in the first round.

They then met South Group’s L West before making their way to the quarters where they defeated the Jones’.

They will now play South Group's Cindy Brodie next weekend.

Allen Armistead and Bec Heard met with South Group’s Karen Brodie and unfortunately went no further.

Jason and Jacoba Mungean met with Warrnambool’s Gill Phillips but went no further.
