Round 14 pennant action

THERE was plenty of round 14 pennant action for Heytesbury Indoor Bias Bowls Association teams.

Division one saw Timboon Lawn 2 take care of Camperdown 2, Mepunga 1 defeated Camperdown 1, Scotts Creek 1 defeated Laang-Ecklin and Timboon Lawn 1 went down to Glenormiston 1.

The final standings in division one after the home and away season are: Timboon Lawn 2, Timboon Lawn 1, Mepunga 1, Glenormiston 1, Camperdown 1, Camperdown 2, Laang-Ecklin and Scotts Creek 1.

Division two saw Mepunga 2 narrowly go down to Timboon Lawn 4, Cobden 2 defeated Glenormiston 3, Cobden 1 lost to Glenormiston 2 and Simpson 1 took care of Timboon Lawn 3.

The final standings in division two after the home and away season are: Mepunga 2, Timboon Lawn 4, Cobden 1, Glenormiston 2, Simpson 1, Timboon Lawn 3, Cobden 2 and Glenormiston 3.

In division three, Cobden 3 had the bye this week.

Camperdown 3 went down to Scotts Creek 2, Glenormiston 4 drew with Peterborough and Scotts Creek 3 was taken care of by Mepunga 3.

The final standings in division three for the home and away season are: Mepunga 3, Scotts Creek 3, Peterborough, Camperdown 3, Scotts Creek 2, Cobden 3 and Glenormiston 4.

Semi-finals were held at Simpson Hall this Wednesday evening (tonight); 7.45pm roll-up for an 8pm start.

Good luck to the following teams:

Division 1 - Timboon Lawn 2 v Timboon Lawn 1 and Mepunga 1 v Glenormiston 1;

Division 2 - Mepunga 2 v Timboon Lawn 4 and Cobden 1 v Glenormiston 2;

Division 3 - Mepunga 3 v Scotts Creek 3 and Peterborough v Camperdown 3.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided and please bring a plate for supper. There will also be a raffle being run on the night.

VIBBA has recently announced the following date changes:

The Victorian State Team Open Fours practice day is now on Sunday, August 11.

Last Sunday, the VIBBA Triples were held and for Allen Armistead, James Ruddle and Scott Pierce, and Bec Heard, Jenny Meade and Deb Cheslett, they couldn’t get past the first round.

Pam Wines, Lara Mungean and Kathryn Wines had a bye into the second round but unfortunately, couldn't get into the next round.

For the men, the Ballarat crew (skippered by Ian Hedger) took home the trophy and for the women, Warrnambool’s - Anne Draffen, Barb Draffen and Jacinta Marney.

Time is running out to get entries in for the Warrnambool tournament this Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4.
