School holiday movies set to return

SCHOOL holiday movies will make a return to the Theatre Royal in Camperdown next week for locals looking for a cinema experience without having to travel.

Corangamite Shire Council events and creative industries team leader Tammy Young said the movies would give young people something a bit different to do on their holidays.

“Going to the theatre is a fun way to get out and socialise with friends, making it an event rather than just sitting at home streaming something,” she said.

“Come along and make a day of it.”

The first movie will be ‘Migration’ on Monday, July 1.

Mack (Kumail Nanjiani) is a stay-at-home duck but his adventurous wife, Pam (Elizabeth Banks), convinces him to fly south for the winter.

The two, with their kids Dax (Caspar Jennings) and Gwen (Tresi Gazal) and Uncle Dan (Danny DeVito) run into a few misadventures on their way to having the time of their lives.

On Wednesday, July 3, holidaymakers can watch ‘Trolls Band Together’.

Poppy (Anna Kendrick) finds out her friend Branch (Justin Timberlake) used to be in the band ‘BroZone’ with his brothers, Floyd (Troye Sivan), John Dory (Eric Andre), Spruce (Daveed Diggs) and Clay (Kid Cudi).

When Floyd is kidnapped, Branch and Poppy get the band back together to rescue him.

Ms Young said entry was free with the Royal Theatre doors, located on Bath Street in Camperdown, opening at 10am for a 10.30am start.

Food and drinks, including fresh popcorn, will be available for purchase.
