THE ST Colman’s Primary School raffle has returned for a second year after sweeping success in 2021.
THE ST Colman’s Primary School raffle has returned for a second year after sweeping success in 2021.
Tickets are now available and selling fast for an opportunity to share in $4500 worth of prizes, all while supporting the growth of the school.
St Colman’s Primary School raffle co-ordinator Jane Lee said around 125 of the 600 available tickets had already been sold, matching the pace of the successful first year.
“It was a pretty easy decision to bring the raffle back after it was such a success last year,” she said.
“We raised over $9500 with sales coming in not only from Mortlake but in the wider district."
“The beauty of it is we’re not drawing on the same people to raise funds for St Colman’s."
“Many people are happy to have the opportunity to support our school.”
The school recently erected a new undercover area over the school basketball court.
The proceeds from the raffle will go towards covering the basketball court with a soft surface, which is expected to be installed later this year.
Ms Lee said part of what made the raffle a success was the joy the students received being part of it, including hosting ticket sales, and seeing the results of the fundraising.
“We want to establish this as an annual event which creates a little awareness about the school, the kids understanding we need to raise money for the school and that there are lots of people keen to support the school,” she said.
“We’re very grateful for the support we received last year, and we’re very hopeful everyone will get on board and support us again this year.”
The prizes on offer for the lucky raffle winners are:
Major prize – A $3000 voucher supplied by Scott’s Betta Home Living;
Second prize – A $1000 Neighbourhood Benefits Card supplied by Acciona, which can be spent in Mortlake or Terang; and
Third prize – A $500 voucher supplied by Bates IGA supermarket, Mortlake.

The draw will take place on Monday, June 20 at 3pm via live-stream on the St Colman’s Primary School Facebook page.
