CAMPERDOWN’S Hampden League season came to an end with round 18 last Saturday.

While the club has seen great improvement across the board throughout the year, its 15 and under reserves and 13 and under reserves netballers were the only ones to finish in the top five.

The final round of the home and away season last Saturday saw the Magpies enjoy a win at home to Port Fairy.

The Magpies got off to a solid start, kicking six goals four in the opening quarter before holding on to their lead in the second term to go into the main break with a 25-point buffer.

A solid second half saw the side add six majors to the board to bring home win number 10 for the season.

Final scores were Camperdown 14.13.97 to Port Fairy 8.12.60.

Sam Gordon booted home seven majors to be named best on ground for the Magpies, along with Hamish Sinnott, Harry Sumner, Cameron Spence, Brendan Richardson and Archie McBean.

Other goal kickers were Sinnott (3), Angus Gordon, Cameron Spence, Brock Stephens and Harry Sumner.

The Magpies’ reserves went down to the Seagulls by 27 points, 7.3.45 to 9.18.72.

Nelson Loader, Devon Coates, Tarkyn Love, Eddie Lucas and Daragh Fanning were named in the best for the home side.

Love kicked four goals for the day and was well supported by Fanning with two and one from Tim Fitzgerald.

Camperdown’s netballers had a tough day out, winning three of the seven games played.

Open – Camperdown defeated Port Fairy 52-44. Best: Piper Stephens and Emma Wright.

Division one – Port Fairy defeated Camperdown 67-21. Best: Chloe O’Brien and Holly Swayn.

Division two – Port Fairy defeated Camperdown 55-24. Best: Olivia Maskell and Nell Blake.

Division three – Port Fairy defeated Camperdown 50-30. Best: Lauren Murphy and Tanisha Dooley.

17 and under – Camperdown lost to Port Fairy 17-38. Best: Holly Bond, Grace Roberts and Amarli Lawlor.

15 and under – Camperdown defeated Port Fairy 40-20. Best: Indiana Cameron and Breeana Daffy.

13 and under – Camperdown defeated Port Fairy 37-19. Best: Isabella Wain, Taylor Cameron and Charlotte Hinds.
