Season ends for seniors
THE 2022/23 season has come to an abrupt end for Pomborneit’s division one and two sides.

THE 2022/23 season has come to an abrupt end for Pomborneit’s division one and two sides.
Both men’s sides were well beaten in their respective semi-finals last weekend.
The division one Bulls were sent in to bat at Terang and offered little resistance to the Bookaar bowling attack on a helpful wicket.
Bulls’ opener Steve Murphy with 18 and Sam Darcy with an unbeaten 13 were the only batters to dig in and spend some time at the crease.
Bookaar was cruising along in reply until Tom Darcy snared three wickets in quick succession, but ultimately 63 was too small a score to defend -Bookaar winning by six wickets.
Pomborneit's division one team bowed out in the semi-finals for a second consecutive season.
The division two Bulls batted first in its semi-final at Simpson and was looking good at 1/38 before a middle-order collapse, eventually scraping to 98 all out.
Opener Charlie Voutier top scored with 25.
Simpson ticked off the runs in the 23rd over for the loss of five wickets, made to work hard by the outstanding opening bowling spell from Stephen Walters of 3/13 from eight overs.
