THE new-look Heytesbury Princetown ‘Storm’ has won its first South West Cricket match as a new identity.
The Storm took to the Timboon Recreation Reserve against Cobden last Saturday determined to make its mark on the competition and take an early season win.
Storm opener Thomas Hunt led from the front, contributing 45 runs off 67 balls which included four boundaries.
He was well supported by Simon Harkness with 39 and Ash Hunt who finished the day not out on 18.
Best with the ball for the Storm were Paul Vogels 2-15 off 10 and Sam Lenehan 2-15 off six.
The side will take on Pomborneit at home for round two this Saturday.
In division two, Storm will also host Pomborneit for its opening round match, with the game scheduled to be played at the Timboon P-12 school.
