Seats a nod to local history
SHOPPERS in Cobden might have noticed a new look in Curdie Street last week.
In conjunction with recent streetscape works in Cobden, four new decorative bench seats have been installed at the Curdie Street and Victoria Street intersection in the town.
Created by local businesses, the bench seats are an acknowledgement to Cobden’s past and present dairy industry with each having the distinctive butter block and wooden pat.
In addition to the new bench seats, the garden beds in Curdie Street have been further enhanced with new shrubs being planted by both Corangamite Shire Council’s park and gardens team and local landscape contractors.
All of the streetscape works in Cobden were fully funded by the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
