Last Saturday’s ‘pink day’ at the Camperdown Bowling Club saw members and visitors ‘accessorise’ their uniforms with a hint of pink to raise awareness and funds to support breast cancer research.

Organiser Michelle Elijah said the day was a huge success and she thanked all those who donated for their support.

“It was a great day in the Camperdown clubrooms,” she said.

“To have raised so much money is just a credit to everyone involved on the day and also to those who purchased raffle tickets or yo-yos in the days prior.

“We had a lovely day, with a pink morning tea, raffles, champagne, chocolates and we even auctioned off a few items which was very popular.

“Carole Manifold was our guest speaker and she was lovely to listen to and we all appreciated her time."

It is now hoped the event will be held again next October, with plans to make it “even bigger and better.”
