Sharp sisters on point in pool
TERANG College students Lynley and Jackenzie Sharp have qualified for next month’s state swimming championships in Melbourne.

TERANG College students Lynley and Jackenzie Sharp have qualified for next month’s state swimming championships in Melbourne.
The sisters qualified for the event after strong performances in the recent Greatern Western Region (GWR) championships.
Lynley and Jackenzie competed against each other in the 12-14 years MC freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.
Lynley won the 50m freestyle, with Jackenzie finishing second, while Jackenzie just tapped out Lynley to claim first place in the backstroke.
After winning an event each, both girls have qualified to compete at the SSV State Swimming Championships in Melbourne on Friday, April 28.
Along with the Sharp siblings, Terang College was also represented at the GWR championships in Horsham by fellow students Ben Carlin, Edward Delaney, Chloe Clifford and Harpa McMaster.
All students swam exceptionally well with some outstanding results and personal bests.
Ben finished fourth in the 16-year boys’ 50m butterfly and freestyle events, while Edward also touched fourth in the 16-year boys’ 50m backstroke.
Harpa and Chloe both competed in the 11-year girls’ 50m butterfly.
Harpa, who was swimming at her first regional event, finished third in her heat with a massive four second personal best, while Chloe finished sixth in her heat.
Congratulations to all swimmers - a great effort to compete at this level against some much larger schools.
