Shed fire ignites

COUNTRY Fire Authority units from across the region turned out to a shed Engulfed in flames in the early hours of Friday morning.

CFA crews from across the region raced to the scene of a garage fire last Friday morning at Princetown Road, Cooriemungle.

The garage was located around five metres from the house, with units rapidly responding to try and contain the blaze.

“Ten CFA units responded to a garage fire at around 6.23am,” a CFA spokesperson said.

“Units responded from Cobden, Timboon, Kennedy’s Creek, Scotts/Cowleys Creek, Simpson and Princetown.

“Crews arrived to find a garage fully alight and worked to protect the house.

“There was a car in the garage at the time and some explosions occurred on scene.”

The local power company was also called to the scene.

“The incident was deemed under control at 7.33am and safe at 7.43am,” the CFA spokesperson said.

“Crews remained on scene for a further 30 minutes to monitor the incident.”
