Simpson stay on top
SIMPSON won convincingly at home against Birregurra to hold top spot on the ladder for another week.

SIMPSON won convincingly at home against Birregurra to hold top spot on the ladder for another week.
The Tigers outscored the Saints through every period of the match to win 58-34.
Jessie Harding was named best on court for her 34-goal haul, while Sophie Cronin and Hayley Pouw were also in the best.
Co-coach Harding praised her players’ tenacity and teamwork, saying it was their best cohesive effort so far this season.
“It was very competitive, the score didn’t quite reflect how hard the game was,” Harding said.
“But it was the first time we actually played as a team. It was nice to come off the court and be confident of what we did and how we played as a four-quarter team."
“It’s the first time this season we’ve been able to do that and be happy with the result.”
The Tigers have still not been able to select from their full senior squad this season, and Harding said she was looking forward to seeing what the team could become as more players returned from illness, injury and absence.
“It’s nice to be sitting on top, but we still haven’t had our full team yet, which is quite exciting,” she said.
“We haven’t really seen the potential that we have yet.”
Simpson travel to South Colac next week, where the Tigers will face their toughest opponent yet.
“We’ll get a good idea of where we sit when we play South this week. It’s going to be a hard one,” Harding said.
“They’re never easy, always unpredictable, it’s always a good match-up."
“They’re tough and consistent, and that’s what we’re after, consistency. It’s going to be a highly competitive game.”
The side will be bolstered by the return of co-coach Paige Salmon, with Hayley Coulson also hoping to return from an ankle injury.
In other Colac and District netball matches, Lorne defeated Alvie, Irrewarra-Beac remained unbeaten after a win against Apollo Bay, Otway Districts beat Western Eagles, and South Colac had a win against Imperials
