Simpson students makes community connections
SIMPSON Primary School students have been learning a new skill thanks to the assistance of two community members.

School principal Melissa Berry said the students have been learning how to knit under the watchful eye of Biddy Weel and Helen Begely.
“Day one consisted of half the school – yes half – learning how to ‘cast on’,” she said.
“The students also sharpened their vocabulary skills with the understanding and use of the word ‘persistence’.
“We are extremely lucky to have Biddy and Helen come into the school to teach the students this skill.
“As the students discovered, knitting forces you to slow down so your brain and hands can work together, sharpening your skills.”
