Slugs break through for a win
SLUGS have broken through for their first win of the winter season in round four of Corangamite volleyball.
Slugs defeated fifth team Ballbusters 3-1 - a sweet victory which will give them confidence for the remainder of the competition.
The battle for the wooden spoon has suddenly warmed up.
In other matches, top team Bulls suffered their first loss when NOBTS proving too efficient, even with a couple of guns missing.
Unexpectedly, NOBTS were then beaten 3-0 by the determined Freeballers who were rebounding from a disappointing 2-1 defeat at the hands of Poachers.
It will be interesting to see if Freeballers can push their way into the top three in future rounds as they certainly have the potential.
