Smith wins at Timboon golf

DARREN Smith took out the stableford round at Timboon Golf Club last Saturday.

Smith finished the day with 40 points, ahead of runner-up Geoff Norton with 36 and Hamish Huffadine with 35.

The ladies’ winner was Maureen Clements with 35 points.

Nearest the pins: 5th Jack Rowe, 7th Geoff Norton, 10th Jack Rowe and 14th Cody Noonan.

Hamish Huffadine won the Nutrien ball with his second shot to the 11th while Lynne Newton won the South West Car Care ball with her second shot to the 13th.

Thursday’s 12-hole chicken day was won by Darren Smith who also took out the swindle.

Second was Steve Plozza and nearest the pin was John Bertram.

This Saturday will be round one of the Nutrien Harcourt two-person 4BBB medley (mens/ladies/mixed).

The CFA has postponed the burn-off around the course for a month.

Last Wednesday’s stableford event was won by Judy Walsh (14) 34 points from runner-up Michelle Gristede (15) 29 points.

Balls down the line: Maureen Clements (26) 28 points.

Nearest the pin, second shot on the 7th was Lynne Newton while the Nutrien ball on the 13th went to Sophie Bowker.
