ARE you in need of some company? Or would you like to contribute to a good cause – Cobden’s Helen Smith has just the thing.

ARE you in need of some company? Or would you like to contribute to a good cause – Cobden’s Helen Smith has just the thing.
Social Quilting For Good begins this week and will run over eight sessions.
Mrs Smith said the aim of the sessions will be to create six quilts which will then be donated to charity.
She said the quilts will be “quilt as you go” with those in attendance contributing as many or few sessions as they can.
“It’s a free initiative – they can bring their machines along and I will have a couple here,” Mrs Smith said.
“Morning tea is also included. It’s a social get together.
“They don’t have to come every day, they can if they want though.
“It’s a good chance for people to get together and have a chat and contribute to a good cause.”
The sessions will be held at Cobden Sewing Machines in Curdie Street.
Mrs Smith said interest has been positive so far.
Social Quilting for Good is part of Cobden Connection and Kindness Project and the initiative received funding from the Australian Government in partnership with the Foundation for Rural and Regional and South West Community Foundation.
The sessions will be held between 10am to 12.30pm on February 14, 21, 24 and 28 and March 3, 7, 10 and 17.
