TERANG Mortlake’s Maddie Solley has been named in Hampden’s open netball squad to contest this month’s association state championships.

The HFNL last week announced the open team that will represent the league at the Netball Victoria Association Championships.

The event will be held on Sunday July 24 at the State Netball Centre in Parkville.

Solley was among the 11-player squad to be announced last Wednesday afternoon.

Joining Solley will be Cobden’s Remeny McCann and Camperdown’s Lily Eldridge, along with South Warrnambool’s Meg Kelson, Carly Watson, Isabella Rae and Hollie Phillips; Isabella Baker (Koroit), Heidi Jones and Remy Grant (Portland) and Warrnambool’s Sarah Smith.

The team will be coached by Will Jamieson, with Kate Lindsey named assistant coach.

The Open team will join the 13 and under, 15 and under and 17 and under HFNL teams who previously qualified for the event based on their performance in the Western Region Association Championships.
