Speed drop frustrates
A SECTION of the Cobden-Warrnambool Road at Glenfyne has been reduced to just 60km.
Department of Transport and Planning executive director Barwon South West and Grampians Michael Bailey said during routine inspections it was identified necessary repairs were needed to “improve the condition along this section of Cobden-Warrnambool Road”.
“While we plan for these repairs, our crews will continue to regularly inspect the road and monitor the effectiveness of the reduced speed limit and additional warning signage in place,” he said.
No timelines for the “necessary repairs” were given or details about how far advanced the planning process was for the project.
A section at Ecklin was also reduced to 80km last week.
