Stableford at Timboon
FIFTY players took to the Timboon golf course last Saturday for a 4BBB stableford competition.
The day’s winners on 46 points were Judy Delaney and Shaun McKenzie on a countback from Matthew and Josh Walker.
Third place went to Geoff Norton and Todd Brunt with 44 points from three other pairs.
Nearest the pins: 5th Peter Cashmore, 7th Debbie Norton, 10th Hamish Huffadine and Shaun McKenzie.
Matthew Walker won the Nutrien ball for the second shot on the 11th and Finn Castledine won the second shot on the 13th.
Golfers enjoyed a stableford aggregate on the Timboon course last Wednesday.
Players took part in a stableford round and then had a draw for partners to determine the winners of the aggregate.
Nell Cashmore (18) 31 points and Judy Walsh (11) 37 points were the winners on 68 points.
The runners-up with 67 points were Sophie Bowker (28) 32 points and Donna Weller (7) 35 points.
Balls down the line: Debbie Norton (20) 36 points and Judy Delaney (21) 29 points.
Nearest the pin on the fifth was Sophie Bowker, while Judy Walsh was closest on the 13th and Debbie Norton had the longest putt on the 11th.
Thirty-five members competed in a stableford round at Timboon on January 6.
The A grade winner was Steve Plozza with 43 points from Mark McKenzie with 41 points.
Next was Geoff Norton with 39 points.
B grade was won by Barry Cook with 33 points from Chris Thompson with 32.
Mick Smith and Vince Beekman were next, both players with 31 points.
Nelle Cashmore tabled the best ladies’ score with 40 points, followed by Maureen Clements on 39 and Judy Delaney with 38.
Nearest the pins: 5th Ben Saunders, 7th Donna Weller, 10th Cody Noonan and 14th Andy Clements.
Darren Smith won the Nutrien ball for his second shot to the 11th.
On Thursday, January 4, the 12 holes Kazza’s Railway View Chicken Day was won by Brian Sweeney with 32 points from Gavin Rundle.
Nearest the pins were Daryl Neal on the 5th and Darryle Beames on the 12th.
Last Thursday’s 12 hole chicken day was won by Mark McKenzie with 38 points.
The runner-up was Jo Clemens and nearest the pins went to Kevin Plozza on the fifth and Ben Kelson on the 12th.
