STALLIONS returned to Corangamite Volleyball with a bang in round three.
STALLIONS returned to Corangamite Volleyball with a bang in round three.
The side defeated heavyweights Poachers and NOBTS in two very tight matches that displayed a high level of skill.
Given their form on arrival, last season’s premiers will soon be claiming higher-ranked spots on the ladder which is going to put enormous pressure on other A grade contenders.
Apart from the winning Stallions and Slugs who suffered two losses, all other teams recorded one win and one loss to maintain some momentum heading towards the mid-point of the season.
Ballbusters are the current surprise packet, holding second place by percentage.
Only time will tell if they are likely to crack under the strain.
Volleyball is maintaining its international flavour.
Slugs farewelled its two Irish players last week but welcomed two French recruits to take their spots.
This is contributing to the good vibe around the competition at the moment.
Round two results saw Bulls def Slugs 4-0, Stallions def Poachers 2-1, Poachers def Bulls 3-0, Ballbusters def Slugs 4-0, NOBTS def Ballbusters 3-0 and Stallions def NOBTS 2-0.
