STELLA Horspole continues to dominate the show ring, taking home the prestigious title of State Champion at last weekend’s ‘Barastoc Horse of the Year’ Victorian titles at Werribee Park.
The talented 16 year-old from Leslie Manor and her horse ‘Argyl Fine Art’ (George) will now represent Victoria at the national championships in Sydney in December.
“Stella won the child’s large Galloway hack under 15h (ridden by a child under 18 years),” proud mum Sheree said.
“She was absolutely thrilled; to become a state champion is a dream come true for her and we couldn’t be prouder. She will now be Victoria’s number one representative at the nationals.
She has worked so hard and this is total reward for her effort.”
In awarding Stella the top prize, all three judges were unanimous in their decision.
Being named state champion adds to a growing list of accolades for the year 10 Camperdown College student.
Last year Stella won several titles at the Royal Adelaide Show and was also successful at the Royal Melbourne.
With a state title already under her saddle, 2023 looks set to be an even more successful one for the young rider.
