State selection trial for Ava
TERANG Mortlake netballer Ava Grundy has been invited to attend a Netball Victoria ‘screening day.’
Grundy, who played an integral role in Hampden League’s state championship-winning Open division side, will attend this Sunday’s training session at the state netball and hockey centre in Parkville.
“We received an email from Netball Victoria inviting me to the screening day for the state under 19 team,” Grundy said.
“As far as I know I’m the only player from Hampden League invited, which is abit daunting, but I’ll just see how I go.
“I’m not sure if there’s any more sessions or exactly what’s involved as yet, but I guess I’ll find out on the weekend.”
The talented 18 year-old plays at wing attack or centre, with a preference for the wing.
“It’s exciting to be invited. The session goes from 9am until about 1pm which will be a great experience.”
Before heading to Melbourne on Sunday, Grundy will line up with her Bloods team-mates on Saturday for their round 13 clash with North Warrnambool at Terang.
