Storm strong with the bat
HEYTESBURY’S division one cricketers showed plenty of power with the bat last weekend to amass 240 runs.
Playing Pomborneit at home on Saturday, the Storm showed patience at the crease, with openers Thomas Hunt (38) and Matthew Love (46) giving their side a strong start.
Henry Stevens (29), Hamish Huffadine (40) and Ryan O’Keefe (45) also contributed to the scoreboard while Chris Vogels’ finished unbeaten on 24 and Matthew Price not out on 14.
Having won the toss and elected to bat first, the Storm gave the Bulls plenty to chase, defending 5/240 after 50 overs.
In reply, the Bulls were restricted to 10/163 by the 39th over thanks to some accurate bowling by Matthew Price who took 4/14 off his seven overs.
Other wickets fell for Paul Vogels 2/38, Josh Dunne 2/34, Chris Vogels 1/19 and Sam Lenehan 1/24.
Round four of the South West season this weekend will see the Storm’s division one side head to Ecklin.
