Strong entries for Rose Bowl
TWENTY teams of four players enjoyed the annual Rose Bowl competition at Terang Golf Club last Friday.
The winning team with 87 points comprised Janet Saunders, Loretta Roberts, Pam Payne and Melissa Hammond
The runners-up on 82 points were Michelle Gristead, Alison Walsh, Aileen Clarke and Jane Heffernan.
Best nine went to Judy Carmody, Tricia O’Sullivan, Kate Cornelissen and Marlene Hodges with 44 points.
Nearest the pins: local - 6th Heather Holmes and 11th Judy Carmody; visitors - 3rd Linda Vaughan, 6th Vera Conroy and 11th Pam Clark.
Balls down the line with a score of 82 were Heather Holmes, Di Sullivan, Clare Pearson and Marion McKenzie.
Also on 81 were Cheryl Carroll, Pam Clark, Maria O’Rourke and Sue Henderson.
Well done to all who participated and to Terang Golf Club for its excellence in presenting the course in great order, and to the organisers and caterers.
Last Thursday’s stableford comp attracted 23 players.
The ladies’ winner was Marion Venn on 33 from runner-up Karen Mather 32.
Winner of the mens’ competition was Stephen Grinter on 40 followed by Peter Hrabar 37.
Balls down the line: Billy Wood 33, Ross Thompson 33 and Chris Coolahan 32.
Nearest the pins: 3rd Clare Pearson, 4th from off the green Clare Pearson and 11th Peter Hrabar.
Winner of the nine-hole competition was Janine Fitzpatrick with an excellent score of 26 points.
