Sunday Ridge Road concerns heard
CONCERNS have been raised over the condition of Sunday Ridge Road in the Simpson community.
Corangamite Shire manager assets planning John Kelly said council inspected Sunday Ridge Road on Tuesday, December 3 and would schedule a maintenance grading in coming weeks.
Under its Asset Management Policy, council carries out periodic assessments of roads based on their classification.
Each year high-volume link roads, which connect local areas to the VicRoads network, are inspected four times.
Moderate-traffic collector roads, which carry traffic to link roads are inspected three times.
Low-traffic access roads, which provide direct access to properties and industries in urban and rural areas, are inspected twice.
Council will also assess individual assets on a reactive basis when required.
“Residents are encouraged to let us know of anyB issues so we can follow up on them,” Mr Kelly said.
“You can make a customer request on our website.
“At corangamite.vic.gov.au/Customer-Request you can upload a photo of the issue directly from your phone and click on a map to show the exact location.
“Otherwise, please call council on 5593 7100 and one of our community relations officers will take the details and make the request for service on your behalf.”
The Department of Transport and Planning is responsible for arterial roads which are marked with an A, B or C and an identifying number. Issues can be reported at vicroads.vic.gov.au/traffic-and-road-use/report-a-road-issue.
To find out if a road is council or state responsibility, go to corangamite.vic.gov.au/whoseroad.
