Sunnyside seeks board members
THE Sunnyside House board is calling for residents who are interested in putting their hands up to serve on the board.
Sunnyside House’s board is drawn from the Camperdown community, and assists in making decisions to improve and develop the not-for-profit aged care facility now and into the future.
Sunnyside House is seeking new board members with skills in finance, legal, commercial health, ex-nurses – or anyone who’s got a few hours a month to spare.
The strategic direction of Sunnyside House is overseen by a voluntary board of directors who, together with staff at Sunnyside, are committed to the achievement of excellence to benefit the region now and into the future.
The board is comprised of volunteers who assist in guiding the aged care facility, and work with staff to ensure facilities remain high-quality.
An option also exists for paid memberships - these paid memberships help to fund the facility and allows for residents to receive invitations to Sunnyside House’s annual general meetings (AGMs).
The Sunnyside House facilities in Camperdown enable people to remain in the district, provide an employment base and maintain the threshold of community relationships and structures that keep a rural community economically and socially viable.
Sunnyside House fills a gap in community support services and residents and their families have expressed a high level of satisfaction.
Sunnyside House is a major community asset in the Camperdown region, employing over 50 staff from the local area and together with many hard-working volunteer support groups provide outstanding care for our residents.
A Sunnyside House board representative said the town was lucky to have aged care facilities close to home for families, and board members can help to ensure the facilities at Sunnyside remain available to the community.
“To have a facility like that in town – you don’t appreciate it until you need it,” the representative said.
“Would you like to join as a board member and contribute to the running of the home?
“Would you like to be a member and vote at our AGMs?
“We would like to hear from you.”
Anyone who may be interested is invited to call Sunnyside House receptions on 5593 2674, who will direct callers to a board representative to discuss their application.
