Sunshine greets cyclists
CAMPERDOWN Cycling Club members enjoyed bright sunshine for last Thursday’s race meeting.

Race eight of the summer series saw an unusual turn with the club’s new racing star, Lily, starting 22.25 minutes in front of the scratch rider.
It is important to allow new riders to feel comfortable when they are starting out on the road for the first rides.
Lily took off with her grandfather with the first (spare) front car, while the other riders chatted away until it was their start time.
Another new rider, Izzy, rode with brother Finny for her first ride.
Winner of the night was Lily when she rolled over the line without the timekeeper back at the start line with the scratch crew.
Lily set a personal best of 24 minutes – fortunately her grandad kept the Strava running for time-keeping reasons.
Second was Finny, creating a PB in a time of 17.02.
Third place went to Izzy with her first time of 17.15.
Other times were Henry 13.23, Noah 13.3.2, Josh (fastest) 09.28, Oliver 09.34, Zane 10.16, Finn 09.38, Nathaniel 12.39, Thea 11.50, Quinn 11.01 and Lawson 12.55.
Many thanks to the senior riders and parents who rode with the junior team – this is a priority to ensure the safety of all riders on the permit circuit.
The senior race saw nine riders push themselves around the Chocolyn block circuit.
Shaun was first to cross the line in a time of 29.29, with the fasted time, followed by Todd 24.23 and Josh 27.06.
Any new riders wishing to join the club can phone 0407 335 546 for more information.
