Round five of table tennis saw a more even contest in both matches, which also included the top side suffering its first loss.

Dreamers defeated Aces 7-6, with Dan Galea inflicting Callum McSween’s first loss of the season.

This victory tipped the balance in favour of the Dreamers.

Dan won two singles and a doubles, while Daryl Burns, Mohan Bam and John Rantall all contributed a singles win and the team won two of the three doubles.

Tyler Smith and Michael Pearson won two singles each for the Aces and Callum McSween won a singles.

Three and a Half Men defeated top side Bloods 8-5 thanks to their number three and four players, with Charlie Kenna winning two singles and both doubles and Akas subbing in to win both his singles and a doubles.

For Bloods Tony Young won both singles and a doubles while Vesha Chapagain won two singles and a doubles.

At the halfway mark of the season the ladder is: Bloods (12 points); Three and a Half Men (12); Aces (8); Dreamers (8); Battlers (0).
