Table tennis resumes next week

THE Terang table tennis season will kick off with two practice/seedings evenings on Wednesday, April 17 and 24.

These sessions will be followed by a singles tournament on Wednesday, May 1 which will then lead into the first round of competition on May 8.

This is the first time Terang will be running a singles tournament at the start of the season.

If you are wanting to play competition table tennis, Terang is the only venue between Warrnambool and Colac that runs a competition.

The last few years has seen a number of new players join Terang, which has resulted in a very even competition.

Players are ranked and teams selected to try and balance the competition.

Returning and new players are always welcome.

The Terang Table Tennis Association competition is played in the Terang Stadium from 7.30pm on Wednesday nights, with the season running from May through to September.

Anyone interested in playing competitive table tennis this year is invited to attend the practice evenings where players are seeded and teams selected.

As all games are played on the same night, table tennis provides an opportunity for all members of the family to play.

Beginners are most welcome - seeding players enables all abilities to be catered for.

Age is also no barrier as the competition has those from upper primary school through to one in his 80s.
