Terang and District Probus Club members were captivated by the life story of guest speaker Wayne Reicha at their August meeting.

Terang and District Probus Club members were captivated by the life story of guest speaker Wayne Reicha at their August meeting.
Wayne spoke of his difficult childhood due to the condition he was born with.
Wayne paid tribute to his parents Les and Elaine Reicha in providing the opportunities to rectify his condition which has led to Wayne leading anormal life.
His achievements have been exceptional including being current president of Terang Rotary Club. He also has the honour of Terang Mortlake Football Club’s games record holder with 342 games.
Wayne also outlined the life story of Les and Elaine Reicha from their growing up in Lebanon, emigrating to Australia, working as a hawker in the Western District and eventually setting up a successful clothing and general drapery store.
The five-minute speaker was Bernadette McKinnon who spoke of her life growing up in Noorat, marrying a Garvoc farmer and rearing 6 children.
She also spoke of her life with Parkinson’s disease.
The club has secured the staff of Cooinda via their catering group to provide their monthly morning teas. Members continue to meet for coffee on birthdays that occur each month.
Following the meeting members enjoyed a mid-year lunch at the Wheatsheaf Hotel.
Next month’s guest speaker is Jill Cole who has had a successful career in martial arts and continues to compete as well as teach the sport.
New members are most welcome, and members look forward to celebrating Probus Day in October.
Next meeting is on Monday, September 5 at 10am in the Rose Room.
