ONE of the regions iconic spots – The Arch – on the Great Ocean Road, remains closed to the public.

ONE of the regions iconic spots – The Arch – on the Great Ocean Road, remains closed to the public.
The viewing point was shut off in March after Parks Victoria staff discovered a large crack in the concrete path.
Parks Victoria area chief ranger Michael Smith said the crack was under investigation.
“A specialist geotechnical investigation of The Arch was recently completed and we’re now reviewing the report and what it means for the site,” he said.
“We have to take a safety-first approach and The Arch lookout will need to remain closed until we have determined the best way forward.”
This area of coast is a dynamic and shifting environment and Parks Victoria adopts a safety-first approach to any signs of subsidence noticed during regular inspections of our lookouts and tracks in the area.
