MORTLAKE has once again dominated the Sungold Cup, bringing home the $15,000 prize money for the third time.

The Cats put on a great display with bat and ball in the semi-final at Allansford Recreation Reserve last Sunday, notching up 6/129 against Portland (10/47).

Best with the bat for Mortlake were Saman Gonawala with a racy 56 from 44 deliveries while Todd Lamont notched up 27 off 25 balls.

Best of the bowlers were Lamont with 4/7 from three overs and Clinton Baker 2/6 from two.

Cats supporters turned out in force for the grand final match later in the day, where Mortlake took on Stoneyford Cricket Club.

The Cats earned their third victory in Cup history, reaching 3/97 while restricting Stoneyford to 10/96.

Lamont again was among the top scorers, reaching 39 from 39 deliveries, while Clinton Baker contributed 35 off 37 balls.

Best of the bowlers were Todd Robertson with impressive figures of 3/16 off four overs while Sam Wareham was effective at the crease, finishing the day with 2/20 off four.
