Three home games for Magpies
CAMPERDOWN Golf Magpies Bowling Club’s division one Saturday side is looking forward to playing at home over the next three rounds.
The team has been on the road for its first two rounds, travelling to Apollo Bay and Winchelsea.
At Winchelsea last Saturday, Golf struggled to keep up with the home team, going down by 59 shots, 73-132.
Paul Richards’ rink of Chris Pearson, John Molan and James Henry were the only winning rink on the day, defeating Stewart Williams’ rink by six shots, 31-25.
Glenn Winsall’s rink of Billy Conheady, Leanne Fitzgerald and Greg Teal went down to Max Heaton-Harris’ rink 14-35.
David Bateman’s rink of Gary Body, Isaac Winsall and Jack Paasse lost to Rhys Jeffs’ rink 16-38.
Craig Skene’s rink of Peter Reilly, Andrew Anderson and Taj Merrett lost to Jason Armstrong’s rink, 12-34.
Tomorrow (Saturday) Golf will be at home to Colac Central who are also winless this season so a close contest is assured.
With the home ground advantage, Golf should be able to notch up its first win of the season.
Division one teams for tomorrow:

Greg Teal, Leanne Fitzgerald, Peter Reilly and Glenn Winsall (s).
James Henry, John Molan, Chris Pearson and Paul Richards (s).

In division two Golf had a fantastic win against Cobden who were forced to drop back from division one after a restructure of all the divisions at the end of last season.
With the scores tied after 99 ends, it took two fantastic bowls from skipper Wayne Henry to enable Golf to claim the points, 87-85.
Wayne’s rink of Pam Place, Daryl O’Donohue and Noelene Tolland went down to Nick Kemp’s rink by one shot, 21-22.
Terry Place’s rink of Greg Molan, Stephen Lucas and Greg Edwards won against Darren Mulgrew’s rink, 21-19.
Algie White’s rink of Noel Brebner, John O’Donohue and Ray Bateman had a good day, defeating Noah Mungean’s rink by seen shots, 21-20.
Peter James’ rink of Dan Stewart, Ro Dunstan and Thomas Henry went down by six shots to Ben Robertson’s rink, 18-24.
Tomorrow division two will have the long road trip to Lorne, who also dropped from division one last season and are winless so far.
However, Golf cannot afford to take Lorne lightly as they will be desperate for a win at home.
Division two teams for tomorrow at Lorne (bus leaving Bath Street at 10am) are:
Ray Bateman, John O’Donohue, Noel Brebner and Allan White (s).
Noelene Tolland, Daryl O’Donohue, Pam Place and Wayne Henry (s/m).
Greg Edwards, Steve Lucas, Greg Molan and Terry Place (s).

Division three fought hard all day but couldn’t overcome a strong Cobden team, going down by 65 shots, 55-120.

Rene Wyles’ rink of Liz Riches, Andrew Whiteside and Elaine Waterfall went down to Richard McVilly’s rink, 15-27.
Gary Mitchell’s rink of Janet Molan, Carol Wilson and Xavier Crabbe went down to Bert Strampel’s rink 10-23.
Tomorrow sees Golf 3 at home to Colac City 2.
