SIMPSON proved too strong for the Dragons during last weekend’s division two grand final.

In what proved to be a close encounter on the Terang turf wicket, Boorcan fell just one wicket short of premiership glory.

Coming off an 11-run semi-final victory over Heytesbury Rebels the week prior, Boorcan worked hard with the bat to put 117 runs on the board, while Simpson finished the day at 9/121.

Lachie Boyle top scored for the Dragons with 26, supported by Will Owen on 17 and Connor Jackson 14.

Best of the bowlers were Tim Fleming 3/28 off eight, Nick Boyle 2/16 off eight and South West’s division two cricketer of the year, Henry Moyle 2/17 off eight.
