Fundraiser organiser Lesley Togni said about 100 people attended the morning tea held at Timboon and District Healthcare Service.

“It was absolutely fantastic,” she said.

“We raised $2500 which was more than we expected.

“It was just the best day.”

As well as sitting down and enjoying a cuppa and a tasty treat or two, attendees also listened to talks from cancer survivors which proved emotive for all involved.

“We had a number of talkers, which was the highlight of the day,” Mrs Togni said.

“Everyone that came went away with a smile.

“All money raised goes to cancer research and that is what we need.”

Mrs Togni thanked all involved in the day.

“Thank you to Kristy Berry and Sabine McKenzie for their support in particular,” she said.

“It takes more than one person to do all that’s involved; you can’t do something like this on your own. So thank you to all that supported the day.”
