Timboon golfers win Challenge
FIFTY-FIVE golfers from Timboon and Camperdown competed in a Stableford round for the Bob Case Premix Concrete Cup last Saturday.
FIFTY-FIVE golfers from Timboon and Camperdown competed in a Stableford round for the Bob Case Premix Concrete Cup last Saturday.
Timboon emerged winners with an average score of 30.7 to 26.7.
A grade winner was C Huffadine with 39 points from R Edge with 26 points and T Ziegelaar with 35 points
The B grade winner was B Finlayson with 41 points from R Johns on 37 and G Broderick on 36.
Nearest the pins: 5th J Rowe, 7th M Lucas, 10th T Cronin and 14th N Gowland.
S Crees won the Nutrien ball for his second shot to the 11th and A Burrows won the South West Car Care Ball for his second shot to the 13th.
Gordon Broderick cleared out the eagles nest with a fine shot from around 160 metres on the 3rd hole.
On Thursday the 12 holes Kazza’s Railway View Chicken Day was won by Mark McKenzie with 27 points from Barry Cook with 26.
Nearest the pin was Tori Ziegelaar.
Next Saturday’s event is stroke and the monthly medal.
A good field turned out to enjoy the warm weather and to compete for the Captain versus Ladies Manager competition last Wednesday
They played a stableford round and the captain, Mandy Dalton, was pleased to announce that her team won by a convincing 27 points.
However, the daily result saw the ladies’ manager, Judy Delaney, take out the win with 35 points, playing off a handicap of 25.
Runner-up was Lynne Newton, playing off 17, with 34 points.
Linda McKenzie played off 26 and had 32 points to win the ball down the line.
Nearest the pin on the 5th was won by Heather Finlayson.
Longest putt on the 10th was a very long putt by Dawn Wallace.
Longest putt on the 14th was won by Biddy Weel.
The Nutrien Ball on the 13th was won by Linda McKenzie.
