Timboon housing blocks hit market
KEY workers and employers are encouraged to act fast before preferential residential land sales in Timboon are thrown open to the general market.
The first eight blocks at Trestle Estate range from 485—800 sqm with asking process from $176,000—$236,500.
Preferential access for the stage one release is being offered until April 22 to key workers employed in the following industries in Corangamite Shire:
Agriculture, forestry and fishing;
Health care and social assistance;
Education and training;
Retail trade;
Construction;
Accommodation and food services;
Professional, scientific and technical services; and
Electricity, gas, water and waste services.
Corangamite Shire mayor Kate Makin said the innovative development was a vibrant, welcoming community surrounded by a stunning natural environment.
“We are around the mid-point of lot sales for Trestle Estate, Timboon,” she said.
“Part of the Unlocking Housing Timboon project, this land release incorporates the Key Worker Preferential Access program to help provide new homes for residents and workers in this growing part of the shire.
“Since mid-2021 council has re-zoned the land for residential development, carried out subdivision plans and infrastructure works so that land is ready for housing development.”
Cr Makin said agriculture is the foundation of the community and the local economy which supports many other businesses as well.
“That’s why council has developed this new estate to create housing opportunities and support the strength and prosperity of our community,” she said.
Named after the iconic 1892 Timboon Trestle Bridge, the estate is close to the recreation reserve with easy access to major connecting roads and necessary amenities.
