TIMBOON Probus Club president Elizabeth welcomed members and two guests to the 17th annual general meeting and her last day in the role of President.

TIMBOON Probus Club president Elizabeth welcomed members and two guests to the 17th annual general meeting and her last day in the role of President.
Despite the fact that our lead singer Graeme, was absent ill, the Probus song was sung with gusto and the general meeting began.
Reports were given from members of the Caravan Club who enjoyed their stay at Port Fairy for the Sheep Dog Trials and the Jazz Festival and the recent tasty lunch at Schultzs Cheesery where there was a good representation of the Club and then another lunch arranged for next month.
Get well cards were sent to three of our members and footy stalwarts were also reminded that the big start is almost here and footy picks are to be handed in now. Reminders also given that three of our members would be exhibiting at the forthcoming Art Festival in Cobden.
Before morning tea and our Annual Meeting, members were happily entertained by Rebecca Couch singing songs from around “our” era, accompanied by her father Leon, on the keyboard, and then a lovely morning tea of sponge cakes, slices and sandwiches.
The annual general meeting then proceeded and President Elizabeth thanked all members who made themselves available during the year for trips, morning tea and our Friendship Day and how wonderful it had been to have a full year of meetings without COVID lockdowns.
Also to Marg as Secretary, and for her excellent production of the club Newsletter and to treasurer Graeme.
Neville Rantall conducted the following elections and the new president Suzanne Wilson was elected, with Marg Gristede secretary and Graeme Murfett treasurer, together with a basic re-election of the rest of the committee from last year.
A successful annual general meeting then concluded with the new president Suzanne Wilson inducted and the rest of the committee presented to members.
Suzanne thanked Elizabeth for her outstanding role of president in 2022 and said it was her intention to keep our times together of fellowship, friendship and fun.
