TIMBOON will host an anticipated 2000 plus bike riders later this month.

As part of the 2022 Great Victorian Bike Ride, riders will enjoy an overnight stay at the Timboon Recreation Reserve on day three of the event; Monday November 28.

Road closures are currently being planned and motorists will be informed closer to the date of possible detours.

This year’s event will begin in Koroit on Saturday November 26 where riders will spend the day exploring the town before hitting the saddle the following morning.

They willundertake a 66 km journey to Noorat on the Sunday, winding their way from Koroit through Bushfield, Warrnambool, Purnim, Framlingham, The Sisters and in to Noorat.

Following the overnight stay, riders will leave Noorat on Monday, November 28 and head to Timboon.

The 73.9km journey will take them through Glenormiston South and Gnotuk before a rest stop in Camperdown and then on to Naroghid, Cobden, Ecklin South, Brucknell and Timboon.

An overnight stay at the Timboon Recreation Reserve will give the riders an opportunity to explore the town and its surrounds.

Day four will encompass a 105 kilometre journey to Birregurra where they will again set up camp for the night.

Day five will involve a 64.5km ride to Apollo Bay where the group will enjoy a ‘rest day’ before tackling the 76.3km track to Anglesea.

Day eight – Saturday, December 3 – will see riders enjoy a 77km trip to Inverleigh for the final overnight stop.

The 522km ride will end in Buninyong on Sunday, December 4.
