Timboon wins Anzac Day challenge
TIMBOON Golf Club has won the annual Anzac Day Challenge, defeating Peterborough.
The annual stableford event was this year held at the Timboon course and attracted 49 players.
Timboon won the trophy with an average of 29.6 points to 27.3.
Men’s highest scorers were:
1st Michael Beer 41 points, 2nd Anthony Horwood 37, 3rd Cody Noonan 36.
Ladies’ highest scorers:
1st Donna Weller 35 points, 2nd Steph Delaney 30, 3rd Maureen Clements 28.
Nearest the pins: 5th Steve Plozza, 7th Joel Bertram, 10th Jeff Costin and 14th Cody Noonan.
Last Wednesday was a very cold and wet day at the course, with just 13 ladies braving the conditions.
Although the stableford scores weren’t high, Judy Walsh (12) finished on 34 points to win the competition from Sophie Bowker (26) 33.
Balls down the line went to Steph Delaney (32) 30 points while nearest the pins went to Sophie Bowker, second shot on the 14th, and Susan Wallace on the 13th.
