TMHS named state finalist

TMHS was shortlisted as a finalist in the Premier’s Small Health Service of the Year category, alongside Central Highlands Rural Health (Daylesford) and Great Ocean Road Health (Apollo Bay).

TMHS chief executive officer Julia Ogdin said being shortlisted for the award was an incredible accomplishment for the dedicated staff across the Terang and Mortlake campuses.

“We are delighted to be shortlisted for the Small Rural Health Service of the Year Award,” she said.

“It validates the hard work and care that our staff contribute to our patients, consumers and residents each and every day.

“Terang and Mortlake Health Service has received very strong health and safety data in the last 12 months, so we are hoping that this hard work is recognised when the winner is announced in November.

“We look forward to sharing the final result with our community in the near future.”

The Victorian Public Healthcare Awards are the peak awards celebrating and acknowledging the achievements of healthcare workers, public health services and health volunteers.

The shortlisting notes TMHS is considered among the leading rural health care services which has won the admiration of the wider south west community.

“TMHS is a small, leading rural public health service which provides a wide range of high-quality health and wellbeing services to its community, while fast earning a broader reputation for outstanding results in clinical performance, management systems, staff satisfaction and consumer experience,” the shortlisting notes.

“Across a range of respected survey and measurement programs, TMHS shines as an exemplary rural health service demonstrating reach and impact.

“TMHS continues to excel in every key performance and practice measure.

“They acknowledge the individual and community contributions that have contributed to their leading health care service.”

The winners across each category will be named at the 18th Victorian Public Healthcare Awards Gala Night in Melbourne on Tuesday, November 19.
